I work for a home health agency that has a high referral source from community hospitals. We receive lots of referral from the wound care form the University of Miami wound care department. The population that acquire osteomyelitis are first males, second African/American and Hispanic. Not all are Diabetics and we have from first timers to recurring. In home health are job is to treat, assess and teach our patients. Not all are able to learn but those that are able usually have a positive outcome to improving.
